Roland Richards
was born and raised on the island of Montserrat
in the Caribbean.
At age 15, he started his musical career
as a trumpeter touring with Arrow, the
original artists behind the song "Hot,
Hot, Hot" (later made popular by Buster
Poindexter). Afterwards he became the
arranger/director/stage manager for the
Multinational Force Band that supported
Arrow worldwide.
Over the course of 12 years, they entertained
the crowds at venues such as Reggae Sunsplash,
Crystal Palace in London, Loreoli in Frankfort,
Top of the POPS - BBC London, the World
Beat Tour with Third World and Ladysmith
Black Mambazo, and
the New Orleans Jazz Festival to name
a few.
